The thing that gets me is that the debunked rhetoric still hasn’t changed today...

on local radio I heard a Brexiteer proffer that we “used to trade with the commonwealth” and then that we were called Great Britain because “we used to be a great country” rather than just because it’s the Island that we happen to inhabit.

Even now, three years down the line I have yet to hear anything concrete and definitive that will improve because we have left Europe. There are lots of definite negative things that have happened because of Brexit (The US orientated company that I used to work for is moving it’s Headquarters to Dublin for Tax purposes, having only moved to the UK six years ago for the same reason).

Sadly I think I will be in my grave before we see a politician with the balls to seek to rejoin and when we do the terms will not be as generous as they are now.
