It's just not practical with the UK's public transport system for most folks in my town to commute to work. Plus you wouldn't want to cycle on our roads due to the condition. I run - well ran and I've never had a problem with cyclists but that's only because it's pointless cycling where I live cause the nearest town is 7 miles away and the roads are so potholed you'd lose your bike anyway. Not sure why you are always so 'anti car' though?
