Edge of Chorlton Cum Hardy ( about mile and a half south east)
Loads of suburban side streets. Nice area so you can safely leave the car. Then walk....Chorlton is quite a leafy suburb but you might need to plan your walking route in advance before you join the crowds. Afterwards you are the right side of Manchester for getting out onto main roads quickly (assuming you are heading South initially)
