Has been able to do it without making such a colossal controversial mess. Think the referees and authorities need to have a bloody hard look at themselves and what they’re trying to achieve.

Things like the Lampard over the line shot in the WC, the Henry handball vs Ireland had everyone complaining. The very first watch back of a replay revealed a terrible mistake had been made. Unambiguously and clear as day, no debate whatsoever. We could all see a huge injustice that should have been righted.

Nobody was crying out for technology to address these “offside by tiny margin” calls. Almost all fans would agree Pukki was level - as most spurs fans seemed to last night according to social media. Nobody was crying out for technology to address marginal encroachment calls at penalties.

The application of the technology to these situations has not improved the game as it has not address a perceived injustice. It’s making the game worse, not better.
