Downside to that being either you have to sacrifice one player outside the box or

not defend one zone.

But defence in any sport is all about choosing your own death. If a team could defend everything all the time then every game would be 0-0. You have to give up something and that’s where game plans come in to effect - trying to determine which aspect the opponent is less in a position to exploit. It’s just a risk analysis exercise really.
