STAT from our two tests in NZ

"Our bowling attack ranks, statistically, as England’s least threatening in history.

They took a wicket every 115.7 balls sent down which, according to the number-crunching statistician Andy Zaltzman, beat a previous worst strike-rate of 114.5 during the six-Test 1989 Ashes."

After the first test all the talk was of our batting failings. Agree there's been problems there but, as I said at the time, I think our inability to take 20 wickets in a match, or even look like doing it, is a real challenge. The minute the pitch isn't doing anything spectacular we have a tendency to look really toothless.
