I'm really despairing about Earnie ...
... he's a player I've always liked, and I was delighted when we signed him, but it's so obvious that he's not going to fit into our current system it's untrue.
My strategy would be to spend whatever money we have next season (parachute payments/remainer of Ashton money) on a decent right-winger and a creative midfielder, and a right-back, and keep Hughes in the squad for away games like Leeds (where we play 4-5-1) and on the bench when we need him to come on and push forward.
Thorne, Charlton, Etuhu, Robinson, Gallacher, Rehman could all leave. Obviously.
