You presume the entry process for the EU is that simple?

We can just ask and we’re in?

There would be all kinds of provisos, which we’ve lost the ability to have any kind of say over. Euro, for example. I have no issues with the Euro and no sentimental attachment to Sterling, but I can see that would be a massive problem for many. Schengen? Loss of all those vetos we had?

The whole thing is bats**t.
