but this is *really* being overthought.

On numerous occasions he said he wanted to leave the board and that the easiest way would be for Ben to ban/block him. By implication, this means he believed that the temptation to return would otherwise be too strong.

Ben clearly decided it was not his place to arbitrarily ban people and that posters need to take that decision for themselves.

So pants escalated by posting his password so that 'pants' no longer really existed in a conventional sense. (Quite a neat move I thought).

Ben, as explained last night, reset the password because he obviously didn't think it was sensible to have 'pants' as a free-for-all account.

People leave this board all the time: Otto, Jafski, Brandonio - are three (for example) of dozens and dozens. I'm sure pants is ok, he has a twitter account and is FB friends with people on here.

You could just go there and ask him.
