He just doesn’t fit into how Southgate wants to set the team up. In the three across the middle, he wants Henderson plus one similar, and a box to box workhorse. In front of them Sterling, another quick winger come striker plus Kane. No room for a baller with a killer pass who lacks the outright pace of some others, and not as physical as a Rice or Henderson. He’ll only get game time if we’re chasing a game, which doesn’t look like it’s going to happen at the moment, or in our next friendly. I’m not being negative towards him, I think he’s one of the best young players in Europe, just doesn’t fit Southgates plans at the moment, and I hope he doesn’t end up as the next Le Tissier, that would be such a shame.
