No. Ligament injuries are reduced by better muscle tone which results from
training.
Strains more likely avoided by massage, effective stretching, ice baths if anything.
Strains and ligaments tend to be unfortunate accidents. Frustratingly seems to happen when a player is completely fit.
When they start getting shin splints or look knackered early on in games you know we may be over doing it.
