Dunno how long he can maintain fitness and form, but Grant Holt style it makes sense for us to tie him down for the next couple of years, if he's on the wane by the end of the contract that's still effectively a thank you for his efforts...

Signing a player from outside in that age bracket is a different beast really (see naismith)
