And one of the reasons for that is that we don't have excess demand so people feel the need to 'guarantee' their seat.
If you have loads of excess capacity there is no 'need' for people to buy season tickets as they know there will always be availability for individual games and they can pick and choose. And that means when times are bad it is easy for them to decide not to go at all.
Do you think we'd have got the attendances we did the season before last, when to be honest it was a bit grim, if we didn't have so many season ticket holders? We'd probably have had plenty of sub-20k attendances. Having such a big stadium is probably a contributory factor towards Ipswich's attendances dropping so low.
