and hope we can grab a taxi to get us home for the last part.

I remember this happening once before. We were 1-0 up vs Arsenal when we landed (cup game?) but behind by the time we got home.

Sigh! We always miss the start of the season and really thought we'd cracked it this year! Last year it worked out quite well as I didn't count any matches played when we were away as proper ones. It meant we were there for the upturn in form and avoided all the anxy stuff.
