Attn Tricky Hawes. Ralf and JAC have maybe answered this for me...
It is a fair point you make, but my contention remains that having party members choosing a party leader is better than just having MP's voting for the leader and, in this case, the de factor Prime Minister. The general public (albeit the card carrying Tories) do have some say in this appointment. That doesn't always happen.
I would rather have some accountability by the public in the choice of PM than none. As for the article that Boris wrote in 2008 demanding a General Election when Gordon Brown simply assumed the Premiership I was aware he had written it though hadn't seen it (thanks JAC). All I think it proves further is that his personal duplicity and inconsistency makes him totally unfit to be PM which was the other point I made when I stated that - in my view - both he and Corbyn are simply unelectable in my opinion. Interesting stuff and useful debate.

- Should party members not be allowed to vote on who leads their party then? (General Chat) - Ralf Scrampton, Jun 22, 21:58:43
