Some numbers and dates....
I wrote down a few “objectives” at the start of the season and recently rediscovered them. By reverse engineering these are the results.
1) Finish above Ipswich - achieved 10 November v Millwall when we reached 33 points.
2) avoid relegation - achieved 8 December v Bolton - 43 points.
3) maintaining pride of Anglia title - achieved 10 February by beating them
4) Finishing top 6 - achieved 13th March v Hull - 75 points.
5) achieving promotion - achieved v Reading 10 April - 85 points
6) winning division - achieved v Blackburn 27 April - 91 points.
7) winning another trophy (cup etc) - failed!
The order is because I think that we would accept relegation more if RIPswich are also relegated lower than us and the Pride of Anglia can be claimed for many different reasons.
Somehow put like that you wonder why we were nervous against Villa!
