Yup, that's my sense too

I think that we always knew he was probably a bit of a mercenary, with even less sense of loyalty to any club than your average manager. (I remember us noting from the very beginning the way he'd left Colchester for us, and being aware he might well do the same to us the moment a chance came along.)

And he always seemed the type to try and exploit any advantage, and wind up the opposition if necessary.

As someone else said, he always seemed a bit of a c**t, but he was our c**t.
