Went to Deepdale last night.

Said a couple of weeks back our record after playing Ipswich on the Sunday and playing midweek is not good. Emotionally it takes a lot out of the players with all of the hype and then there is a come down from a low key game.

We weren't 'at the races' to begin with and were duly punished. The penalty could have changed the result completely with getting some momentum going into the second half, it was just not our night. A couple of brilliant saves from Rudd in the second half to deny Pukki and Zimmerman; it could have been all so different. Left ourselves vulnerable with trying to get back into the game and dealt with the killer blow of the third.

It's a long time since witnessing a heavish kind of defeat on the road, which made me realise how far we have come when travelling back home.
