Since my early 20's, I always said to anyone giving up that I admire them
I've not many who have. I've met people who've stopped for 2 years and started up again.
I guess my advice *without being a smoker) is that any lapse isn't a failure. If you fall out of it then just start again.
Main advice I think would benefit, is don't tell anyone you've given up. Give up privately. If anyone asks if you still smoke, lie and say you do. Saying you've given up and then being seen with a cigarette is a difficult fall, people are judgemental
