I was in attendance last night and he absolutely nailed it.

The way he manages to the cut through the rhetoric (both sides’, mind) with cold, hard facts (e.g. relevant articles of GATS which Brexiteers repeatedly fail to acknowledge exist) was incredibly impressive. He was particularly scathing about the way in which no deal supporters have failed at every point to explain the trade-offs involved. The polarisation/revolutionary politics comparison was also very apt, I thought, and explains some of the recent PV statements attacking the Norway+ idea.

The regrettable thing about the response to this intervention on social media is that many have seemingly failed to actually watch or read his comments and have instead just lazily assumed he’s pushing the same agenda as Blair and the PV lobby, which he definitely is not. Highly recommended viewing (and not just for my bald spot 👨🏻‍🦲).
