Tbh, I dont think I ever gave it a thought. Then all of a sudden,

I had a mortgage and kids. Spent next 30 odd years going overdrawn halfway through month but dont regret a minute. Been pretty good since I was 50. Old is brilliant, apart from the odd health issues
