I Cannot Work Out Why...?

They felt the need to give such long and lucrative contracts.

Worthington, Livermore, and Foley all need Norwich City FC far, far more than Norwich City FC need Worthington, Livermore and Foley.

That is most certainly true now, but it was the truth even as we were presented with the Championship trophy. No man is bigger than etc etc, certainly no three men are.

Whatever happens, post-Norwich, whenever it is, can anyone see Worthington in such a relatively high profile managerial job again? Certainly Foley won't. And this is very likely going to be Livermores last job in football, he must be in his early-mid 60's now, he'll have a fat pension he can live off once he finishes with us.

Likewise, WHY the need to secure their signatures? How many clubs had declared an interest in Worthington and his motley crew? When jobs are up for grabs, how many times has his name been mentioned with bigger clubs, any other club, come to think of it? When there are articles about the up and coming young managers in England, why is he never one of them? Was he ever a hot property? No.

So why this suicidal contract offer? Beats me. But the Board are paying for it now.
