I guess only he will ever know but this incident could perhaps be

a case of him having snapped when Aubamayeng was stood in front of them baiting the fans (which he was really doing) and he just lost it and threw whatever happened to be in his hand/nearby at the time.

I find it hard to believe that he took a banana into the ground just in case one of Arsenal's black players came close enough for him to chuck it (or in fact just the skin) at them a la the 80's.

Alternatively he may of course be a racist a*8*hole who did exactly that!
