I see it a bit differently

The main benefit it will have is to stop hording of the most talented players by a small number of ultra high funded clubs. Chelsea are by far the biggest abusers of this system, but very many of the large PL clubs do it, as do most of the large clubs in Europe to some degree.

To my mind this is a very positive step to level the playing field. Smaller clubs will get access to more of the more talented players. They will have a better pool coming through their academy, and a proper stake in the benefit of their development. Which is at least a small step in the direction of encouraging more even competition and taking away one of the advantages of the mega clubs.

There might be some small reduction on the overall quality of coaching that players receive. Although i'm not sure i buy that given that many players that Chelsea hoover up actually spend very little time at the club. They're mostly being trained by coaches at smaller clubs already.

Since this policy will affect all clubs in all countries, i dont see how it affects the relative ability of any country to bring players through.

I see nothing but positives for the game overall, and potentially for us.
