we normally save a few quid on toys for xmas

but it's a bit luck of the draw that something you were going to buy anyway comes up

There's lot's of stuff that's a few quid cheaper than normal but that you wouldn't have otherwise bought, so quickly becomes a false economy, and then there's needing the discipline to not spend the same amount by buying twice as much...

(eg picked up a half price nerf gun for the boy, but as I was going to buy it anyway he's now getting two so I can shoot back)
