Side. They are in a false position in the table and will cause plenty of teams problems this season.

They say winning when you aren’t at your best is a good sign and I think that’s what we did today. Buendia, Aarons and Zimm were excellent but I felt right from the off there wasn’t quite the zip about our passing as in other recent games and we struggled at times to get on top in the midfield. In what I suspect will become a blueprint for other teams facing us they had a man on Leitner at all times and he had one of his quieter more casual games until things opened up a bit towards the end.

Two other thoughts.

1. We really miss Pukki. Rhodes is a good finisher, works hard and is very likeable but his game is obviously quite limited and Pukki just gives us far more attacking fluidity with his runs in behind.

2. Farke can almost do no wrong at the moment but I do just slightly wish he would not going our players into the ground every game and thus make some subs a bit earlier. We kept getting fantastic opportunities to counter attack in the second half but had no pace on the pitch to capitalise. I thought it was crying out for Hernandez from about 55 minutes onwards to be honest and Buendia and Cantwell both looked tired.

Anyway onwards and upwards. My son saw his first live win so all in all it was a good day!
