Yep. We played a side on top of their game without our most important midfielder
although you could now argue that Leitner is equally important.
Its interesting looking back at those post Leeds comments. i must admit that i was too hasty to write off Farke at that stage, I had always felt he was a decent coach but at that point in time he did not appear to have learnt the lessons from last season and it was so frustrating that our game was I(despite some very good elements to it) continuing to be undermined by individual and defensive errors just like a lot of last season. It did not look like he knew how to sort out the defence which was basically undoing any improvements we had made going forward.
Its amazing how its clicked since that international break post Ipswich and perhaps sometimes you just need a bit of luck and for things to align . I would love to know if he is actually doing anything different since then in terms of coaching and drilling the defence or it has just been the combination of the two young full backs coming in plus maybe Hanley's unfortunate injury.
Its also quite clear that (as much as i like him) Pinto was a defensive liability and now having him haring around all over the place has helped stabilise the team as a unit.
