Legislation is reactive.

In 10-20 years I reckon we'll be looking at hiring autonomous small electric vehicles uber style. Maybe going to hubs for longer distance transport. In that sense my next car might be my last. Autonomous vehicles would certainly make the trips back to Norfolk easier...

Electric/hybrid is getting there and a couple of friends are using it to good effect for short commutes. The much increased price of entry being offset by significantly cheaper running costs. Worth exploring if your city (like Cardiff) , is looking into congestion charge type things...?

I doubt they'll kill off diesel or petrol anytime soon. Picking one with low tax (emissions) makes sense in a variety of ways.

Really, all the options are a wash, so I'm choosing my next one on the basis of the colour.
