FAO Cardiff or Higher: re petrol cars...

...we're not in a position to do anything about it at the mo, but my beloved German tank of a diesel car will, I guess, at some stage soon be banned or penalised in some way making it a pointless exercise to own it...

If that happens are you both saying petrol is the better option then electric or hybrid? What's to say petrol is legislated against due to it being a fossil fuel and the environmental considerations and the electric route becomes the de facto path?..

And finally based on what you say below it seems the actual science doesn't necessarily drive (not apologising for the pun) policy anyway?..
