Because we dont live in a matriarchal society where men have to deal with all the baggage that women have had to face, and still have to face, to have their views given the same credence as men. So it doesnt carry quite the same meaning for us, does it?

Quite simply though, it wouldnt ever cross anyone's mind to describe Alistair Campbell as a 'silly old man' for hiring a coach to bus people to a political protest. And therein lies the rub.

If we ever do get to a time when women are in the ascendancy to the same extent then I will happily call it out.

But let's face it, I will be long dead, and I hope my great great great great great grandsons never have to live in an unfair society. It'd be nice to think my daughters wouldnt have to, but there's still far too much work to do to get there.
