Trying to double the rent....
The York Tavern is at The York Tavern.
19 September at 16:32 · Norwich ·
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT......our current tenancy for the York Tavern is due to expire in January 2019.
We have spent the last four years developing the site and investing a substantial amount of time, money and effort and with your support, we have grown the trade into the highest turnover the site has experienced.
For the last nine months, we have been working hard to negotiate a new contract for a new twenty-year lease with the landlords but unfortunately, the only terms that they would present to us would mean that our rent would over double in size.
To take on such a lease would cripple the business model. So, it is with regret that we announce that the current ownership and management team will be handing the site back at the end of our tenancy.
We will continue to offer the same fantastic products and high level of service right up until the last day of our tenure and all current and any future bookings will be delivered to the same high standard.
We will depart with our heads held high, knowing that we have significantly improved the local community by developing their local into a site that is fitting for the area.
We would also welcome any interested parties in taking on the York to contact us to discuss how the site can smoothly transition from one owner to another so that it delivers as little impact on the community as possible. (james@atlanticinns.co.uk)
We look forward to spending our last three months with as many of you as possible, so if you have enjoyed one of our many big events over the summer or some of our chef's delicious food pop in and support the staff that have worked tirelessly to make this summer and the last four years so special.
All the best the York team.
