My understanding is that the new competition will be like a Europa League B.

So naturally it will be geared to smaller nations.

This will enable UEFA to tighten up Europa League 'A' with a greater concentration of better sides.

I get the sense that it is a competition that is improving but UEFA feel it needs some of the fat to be trimmed.
