That's something else that happens very often on forums (or social media, or email). We can't see the person's face or hear their tone of voice... so things get lost in translation at times.

It's not you who needs to apologise at all; it's me. I guess if I have a conclusion from all this, it's that we all ought to give each other the benefit of the doubt more. But then, I would say that, wouldn't I...?
