Student bank accounts today.
HSBC gives you free Amazon Prime for a year, an £80 Amazon voucher, credit card, free overdraft (£1000 per year so £3000 after 3 years).
I got no overdraft and as an enticement to join them 4 (four) blank cassettes (TDK AD, ask your parents, kids). And they were 60s, not 90s. I could dream of a credit card, if I so wished.
However, in recompense, in those days it wasn't standard to have to get AAB to get into an even half-decent university and I didn't have to pay through the nose for the privilege or try to get accommodation through some weird student housing company.
*walks away mumbling about the state of the world today*
