We don't exist to keep players happy. The way to not sit on the bench is to

work hard in training and when given opportunities in order to force your way into and hold onto the first team.

That is called competition and is a very healthy position for a sports team. You might get the odd sulker, but once that's discovered then they either sort themselves out or are offski.
