I completely understand it’s our business model
It’s the only model we can operate under with our current owners but there has to be some balance. Many fans are reluctantly buying into it because they like the idea of seeing young academy players brought through into the first team and representing the club. I completely get that if they then star for the first team they are going to get sold but surely you get at least one or two seasons out of them first?
Although I don’t like how Webber goes about certain things he does not strike me as stupid. He must surely also realise that if Godfrey has a good season in our first team squad he will likely be worth a lot more than £3m. If we there sold him for such a fee now it would therefore suggest the financial landscape is much worse than we all thought.
