we were so bad in those first two games though, unsurprisng really given it was about 40ºc in the middle of the Mexican desert.

I do remember reading about how Paolo Futre, Portugal's winning goalscorer in the first game, was waving our players goodbye from the world cup after the game.

Portgal ended up being knocked out in the last game and we won the group iirc
