It is entirely normal to feel that way.

I listened to an interview with Martin Lewis last night (Money Expert chap) who lost his mum when he was very young. I know this is probably not the exact same circumstances but he spoke movingly and with incredible clarity about the gap in his life caused by the absence of a mum.

Do you speak about this with anyone? It really isn't silly at all to feel this way and you are not alone feeling this way.

Jonathan Waters (still at Stoke? I'm not sure) is another person who lost his mum when he was very young and there is an interview with him on Five Live later this afternoon (I think). The previews suggest that he was deeply affected by the loss and has never really been able to move on or process the loss.
