EU constitution

Just been reading all the comments on it down below & am quite surprised at the general feelings on it here.

The reason the EU is popular with politicians is that it's a project that they're involved in have moulded to be what they want, might take away the power of national governments, but won't actually result in anyone losing their jobs (eg. welsh assembly: another tier of pointless government).

A lot of politicians retire to the EU anyway. eg. Kinnock, Briton, Mandelson.

It's a big ol' gravy train with no accountability. Don't like what they're doing? Tough, you can't even vote 'em out. The only bit we vote for is the parliament, which is roughly equivalent to our House of lords. The commission is appointed, has been sacked repeatedly for corruption and is where all legislation is proposed & all the power lies.

We have one representative in the commission:Peter mandelson.

Who would've voted for that?!?!?!?

Rant over.
