I’ve just today learnt that the hard (expensive) way.

Last week I covered in goal for our indoor footy team as our keeper was running 5mins late. One of the opposition leathered a ball at close range which I managed to stop but it bent my left index finger back the wrong way.

Just had the results of the x-ray and ultrasound through this morning and it appears I’ve framed my finger at the joint and ripped the ligaments at that joint too. I’m going to have to have surgery to have a pin put into the joint to help the ligaments heal as they are too damaged on their own.

Just waiting for a call now to see how much the surgery is gonna cost. My mate had a similar injury playing cricket and his medical bill went almost up to $10k. Arse.
