1.Get off at Stratford & take the Overground to Richmond, getting off at Gunnersbury. From there you could take a shorter walk (30 mins) but not much pubbage until you get to Kew Bridge. Better to get a 237 or 267 bus from outside the BSI building. Get off at Goat Wharf, 5 minutes walk & lots of Pubs including some old style Fullers pubs. Always found that quicker than the Central & District line routes.
2.If you do take the District line then can always get off at Turnham Green or Chiswick Park, head down to Chiswick High Road which also has a few good pubs. From there you can also pick up the 237 or 267 buses to Goat Wharf.
3.Last option is Circle or Hammersmith lines to Hammersmith, explore the pubs there as you make your way to Chiswick High Road & pick up the bus options.....
.....all depends where you want to do your drinking, but there’s a good selection of Fullers & Young’s pubs between Hammersmith & Chiswick along Chiswick High Road as well as in Brentford.
