Add to that the fact that we've sold one of our two strikers so that takes out the possibility of playing 2 up front.

Now before Edwards we were pretty much down to Maddison, Wes, Murphy (nothing wrong with those three) and the so far undewhelming Watkins. You could argue that Stiepermann can play there too but still not the same quality.

And finally, most of our goals were coming from them, not the strikers, so a drop in quality there would be absolutely disastrous
