What's it like post Christmas?

We haven't been able to go to Berlin Xmas markets for couple of years due to how the holidays at the school my wife works at and a different school my daughter goes to (break up too close to Xmas and don't want to be there actually for Xmas day).
We considered going after Xmas day, like the 27th or something but was worried it would be a bit 'after the Lord Mayors Show'.
