I remember this because Princess Anne’s wedding was going to be on the telly. I didn’t care two hoots but my sister was desperate to watch it. We only had a black and white telly (my parents not keen) but our daily had rented a colour telly and told my mum that she was so sorry for my sister having to watch in black and white that she was inviting her to come round and watch it at her house!
My pa immediately rushed down to Radio Rentals to hire a colour set.
