thus saving myself tens of thousands of pounds and s**tloads of grief over a mortgage. it helped that my place was a bargain though.

Funnily enough my friend who works at the bank advised me to do the opposite and get a mortgage for the full amount. She's now just had her flat repossessed...

So glad I didn't take her s**tty advice
