Went from Essex to Somerset last year...

...with wife (both mid 30s) and our two young boys. It's different and we miss our friends, but wish I'd done it earlier. All the stuff about friendly people and lovely pace of life is true.

You'll get a lot for your money too if you're buying with the proceeds from flogging a house in London.
