We have plenty of shots.
6th in the table of shots taken (this obviously doesn't rate the quality of said shots, but still). I think the fact that we hold on to the ball for longer means that it looks like it takes us longer to get shots in. That may be true and a lot of that possession is meaningless in an attacking sense. However, it's not meaningless defensively. When we have the ball the opposition doesn't, which means they have to chase it and it gives our team the chance to manoeuvre or rest. I'd rather we had the ball, to be honest, but it does reduce the excitement factor; when we don't have the ball as much, by necessity when we do have it we're more direct and under pressure to attack and take risks. The risky pass is the one that either loses the ball or leads to a chance and when we have easy possession then naturally it'll seem to be taken less often because we don't need to force something. I used to moan about this when Barcelona or Spain did it, and lots on here used to praise it. Interesting that when we do the same there's a resistance.
I think the crowd feeling is infectious and tends to lead us all into group desperation. Change is also not something we've always done well, in my opinion. We're stubborn but also impatient at the same time, which is a difficult combination.
