What particularly troubling is

That we've known for several seasons that defence has been our weakness. Webber observed first hand our problems at the end of last season. And we've signed a number of players to address, allegedly, this problem. Yet despite all this, Martin was still named as first choice CB at the weekend. Just how has that been allowed to happen?
