Turning it around a bit, who have we lost in defensive areas that would have been in?

Can't think of many other defensive departures (even going back to the Hughton era) that would have made the top 11 players.

I still maintain that there is a need to coach our players to be better. They shouldn't be this bad at defending.

Some of it at the weekend was down to the ball being given up in dangerous areas. If a defence is constantly exposed in that manner it will look bad regardless of personnel.
