It's a very patronising and blinkered way of thinking so for that reason I'm out

The lazy assumption is that "we've" learned 5 things presumes that we concur with the writer which is both, abzurd (#edballs) and presumptious.

Secondly, it also rather lazily dictates that there can only possibly be five (five) things of worth gleaned from watching any game when, in fact there might be five thousand things or no things (other quantities of things are available).

I don't know though, perhaps Editors will only pay writers for five things so any additional things that the writer, and ourselves, witness would be counter productive as the writer wouldn't be getting paid for them.

Or, it could be a handy go to twitter thing that is under however many characters the limit is that links to a brief report on the game. That's it isn't it? YES! Eureka I've jolly well gone and solved the unfathomable riddle of the 5 things. When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth Sherlock Tombs 🔎
